Delete your account

You can delete your Rose account from inside the app, or by writing to us. It is permanent either way: the account and everything stored with it are removed, not switched off.

In the app

  1. Open Rose and go to the Profile tab
  2. Tap Account
  3. Tap Delete account
  4. Read the warning, then confirm the deletion

Without the app

If Rose is no longer on your phone, or you cannot sign in, you do not need to install anything. Write to us instead.

  1. Email us from the address your account signs in with
  2. Ask us to delete your account
  3. We delete it and reply to tell you it is done

You have to be signed in for this. Rose only offers an account after you subscribe, so if you have never signed in there is no account to delete — see the last section.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription

Rose cannot cancel a subscription billed by the App Store or Google Play. Only the store can do that. Cancel it there first, or you will keep being charged after your account is gone.

How to cancel, step by step

What is deleted

  • Your account, and the email address it signs in with
  • The name on your profile
  • The routines you saved
  • Your history: which routines you finished, when, how long they took and how many stretches were in them
  • Everything Rose kept on the phone you delete it from — your goals, focus areas and experience level, the caution areas you ticked, your streak and progress, favourites, reminders and the notifications they had scheduled, and any routines you built yourself

What is not

  • Your subscription. That is the store's, and cancelling it is a separate job.
  • Finished routines already written to Apple Health. Those are yours, in Apple's Health app, and Rose has no way to reach back in and remove them. Delete them there if you want them gone.
  • Your language and your light-or-dark choice on that phone, which say nothing about you and would make the app look broken if they vanished mid-goodbye.

Some of it was never ours to delete. The caution areas you can flag during setup — pregnancy or a hip replacement among them — are health information, so they stay on your phone and are never sent to Rose at all. Apple Health works the same way: a finished routine is written to it, and nothing is ever read back.

If you never made an account

Rose asks for an account only after you subscribe, so plenty of people have none. If that is you, everything the app knows sits on your phone and nowhere else, and deleting the app removes it. A subscription, if you have one, still has to be cancelled with your store.
